Child Rights Festival 18.06.2023

The 23rd Child Rights festival of Vidiyal Child Rights Movement is designed by children themselves with a theme “Comrades for Child Rights” The festival began with a carnival with lot of fun stalls and eateries at St.Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Madurai. About 250 children participated in the Carnival. Children enjoyed participating in them and winning prizes.

The valedictory function began at 2.30 pm with the Movement Song of the Vidiyal Child Rights Movement. Miss. G.Abi Sakthi Treasuer of the VCRM welcomed the gathering. Ms. V.Santhiya, President Vidiyal Child Rights Movement presided over the function. Mr.N.S.Krishnan and Ms.R.G.Gowri Founders, Yellowbag Foundaiton were the guests of honour. They congratulated the children for what they have achieved through their Children Movement.

17 10th students and 7 12th students were honoured with Shamnath Rajasekar Memorial cash award for their success in the board examinations. The children served in leadership position were rewarded with a gift in appreciation to their contribution to the movement. The cultural show was much enjoyed by everyone. The highlight of the cultural show was the play staged by the Vidiyal Children’s Theatre Group “VINVELIYIL ORU MANTHIRAKUDAI”. This play was a fantasy themed on the impact of tobacco abuse, privatization of education and child pornography on children.
