The Vidiyal Child Rights Movement is a founding member of the FCMRP, a state level federation of children’s movements in Tamilnadu. The 8th State Children’s Convention of FCMRP was organized on 28th and 29th May 2024 at Island Trust, Kotagiri, The Nilgiris, Tamilnadu. Our children K.Janarthanan, S.Dharshini are General Body members of FCMRP participated along with B.Viswa and K.Viswakavi in this convention and contributed to the discussions. Ms.V.Santhiya served as the Young Facilitator and conducted sessions for children on the theme ‘Education is Our Right’. Ms.Selvakumar, our Digital Media trainer documented the entire process and enabled our children to handle the cameras. Janarthanan spoke at the inaugural ceremony and introduced the magazine ‘Pangerpai Noki’ which was released at the convention. Dr.C.Jim Jesudoss, former convenor of the Forum for Promotion of Child Participation (FPCP) served in the Facilitation Taskforce and Documentation Taskforce. At the convention the election for choosing the Managing Committee was conducted in which S.Dharshini was elected as the President of FCMRP which is much lauded by the Vidiyal commune.
