The 25th Child Rights Festival of Vidiyal began with great enthusiasm on Sunday, 22nd June 2025, at St. Mary’s Higher Sec. School. The campus came alive with laughter and joy as children enjoyed fun activities, snacks from various stalls, games, and exciting prizes through tokens from the token bank. Friends captured happy memories through photos, making it a vibrant and memorable day.

The afternoon session marked the celebration of 25 years of the Vidiyal Child Rights Movement. A lively dance opened the session, with children holding balloons spelling “Silver Jubilee.”

The chief guests—Dr. R. Ponnuram, Ms. M. Praveena, and Mr. A.J. Ashok from the Child Welfare Committee, Madurai and Dr. S. Aasha, Secretary of Sakthi—were warmly welcomed. The program was compered by Ms. M. Umadevi (President, VCRM), Mr. M. Gopinath (Secretary), and Ms. P. Nisha (Treasurer).

Leaders from each child forum were honoured for their leadership during the year. A highlight of the event was the release of the VCRM documentary, showcasing 25 years of the movement’s journey.

Ten of the 25 past presidents of VCRM were honoured for their crucial role in building the movement. The event concluded with the presentation of the Dr. G. Gilbert Rajkumar and Shamnath Rajasekaran Memorial Awards to children who had completed their 10th, 12th, undergraduate, and postgraduate education.

A heartfelt Vote of Thanks brought the celebration to a close.
