Tamil Kondattam 2025 – Celebrating Tamil as Our Identity

On Sunday, 24th August 2025, Vidiyal Training Centre was filled with joy and pride as over 240 children gathered to celebrate Tamil under the theme “தமிழே எங்கள் அடையாளம்” (Tamil is our identity). The celebration was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Mr. R. Siva, a Tamil teacher and artist, whose presence added meaning to the cause.

The entire day was designed as a vibrant celebration of Tamil language and culture, with children divided into age groups to participate in engaging activities. For Beginners and Primary children, the sessions included storytelling, singing, and dancing to children’s Tamil songs. Older groups enthusiastically took part in competitions such as quiz, missing word, drawing, listing Tamil words, and word chain.

The highlight of the event was the collage activity, where each Arangam (forum) was challenged to create displays from waste materials that represented the identities of Tamil culture. Children showcased remarkable creativity and teamwork, transforming their ideas into colorful and meaningful cultural exhibits.

The day concluded on a joyous note, with children deeply inspired to embrace and celebrate their Tamil identity. Tamil Kondattam once again reinforced the pride, unity, and cultural richness that Tamil embodies at Vidiyal.
