Theme: Initiating Equality – Social Change is My Responsibility
The Boys Standing for Gender Equality (BS4GE) initiative at Vidiyal continues its mission to nurture boys as advocates of equality. The two-day programme brought together boys from diverse backgrounds to reflect on gender norms, privilege, and respectful relationships.
The event began with the Inaugural Ceremony, featuring the VCRM Movement Song and addresses by Master B. Viswa, Master M. Gopinath, and Dr. C. Jim Jesudoss. Ms. B. Priya, Coordinator of the Tamil Nadu Labour Rights Federation, delivered the keynote address, emphasizing boys’ role in driving social change.

The sessions were divided into three groups—Junior, Intermediate, and Senior—covering themes such as social conditioning, privilege, stereotypes, emotional expression, and challenging patriarchy. Through activities, discussions, and games, boys learned that equality begins with awareness and action.
Day two featured a common session on “Creating and Upholding a Gender-Just World” by Dr. C. Jim Jesudoss, followed by creative activities including Promise Cards and Poster Making on gender equality. The Gallery Walk showcased their reflections and teamwork.
The Valedictory Ceremony concluded the event with slogan presentations and a felicitation address by Dr. G. Sharmila Jim.
The BS4GE programme empowered boys to question stereotypes, recognize privilege, and commit to building a gender-just world—reflecting Vidiyal’s vision of equality and social change.
