Networking

Vidiyal has been networking with likeminded organizations in the promotion and protection of children’s rights. Sakthi – Vidiyal was a founding core team member of the National Movement of Working Children – India which surfaced the voices of working children at national and international child participation initiatives.

The CR4WSF, a net work of organizations working with children was founded in the year 2004 in which Vidiyal had been a founding member and took active participation in the facilitation of the children’s processes.

Sakthi – Vidiyal headed the Campaign Against Child Trafficking – Tamilnadu and organized several consultations to map trafficking in children. The results were shared with a wider platform for advocacy.
Sakthi – Vidiyal played a pro active role in the formation and functioning of the Forum for Promotion of Child Participation (FPCP), Tamilnadu and Pudhucherry since January 2006. The South Zone secretariat and the leadership of the Task Force on Facilitating Children’s federation – FCMRP were headed by Sakthi – Vidiyal for the period between 2006 and 2010. Mr. Jim Jesudoss had been elected as the state convener of FPCP in the General Body held in August 2010 and Sakthi – Vidiyal served as the state Secretariat for one term between 2010 and 2012.
Sakthi – Vidiyal was a core team member in the Tamil Nadu Child Rights Observatory (TNCRO) an umbrella group of civil society organisations working for the protection of child rights in Tamilnadu which was launched in December 2012. This initiative is supported by UNICEF.

Apart from these significant positions in networks, Vidiyal also relates with a wide range of development organizations, community based organizations and people‘s organizations for the promotion of Child Rights. Sharing expertise on child rights and child psychology with grass root organizations is always appreciated.

Dr.C.Jim Jesudoss, Executive Director actively participated in the Executive Committee meetings of Forum for Promotion of Child Participation (FPCP) and contributed in the revival process. We hosted the EC meeting in February 2020.
