Understanding Vidiyal Child Rights Movement – Evolving a new structure for VCRM

by / No Comments / 2 View / August 25, 2025

On Saturday, 16th August 2025, Vidiyal organized a full-day session on “Understanding Vidiyal Child Rights Movement” at the Vidiyal Training Centre. Children from both the urban and rural VCRM participated in this important brainstorming process to shape the next phase of the movement — VCRM 2.0.

The central focus of the session was to develop a new structure and evolve fresh election processes that would effectively combine both rural and urban wings of VCRM into a unified movement. Children, together with volunteers, shared their insights, suggestions, and aspirations on how VCRM 2.0 can be designed to remain strong, inclusive, and impactful.

The day-long session was facilitated and guided by Vidiyal’s Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Jim Jesudoss, who encouraged active participation and critical thinking throughout the process. Children engaged enthusiastically and by the end of the session had outlined a well-structured draft for VCRM 2.0, which will be further refined and developed in the coming months. This marks a significant milestone in Vidiyal’s journey as the Child Rights Movement continues to evolve, keeping the voices of children at its core.
