Today was also observed as Otrumaiyin Naal (Day of Unity). The day began at the hillock of Thenparankundram, a place steeped in historical heritage in Madurai. Under the morning sky, the children listened intently to a powerful story shared by Mr. James about Fr. Stan Swamy, who courageously stood for the rights of tribal people — a moment that truly reflected the spirit of the day.
After the story, the children explored the ancient Jain archaeological site nearby, connecting with a piece of timeless history. The day continued under the shade of a banyan tree where regular camp activities unfolded joyfully — the perfect setting for a meaningful learning experience.
The song of the day, composed and introduced by Ms. Palaneeswari, beautifully echoed the day’s theme, Urimayin Eluchi. The powerful lyrics and melody further deepened the children’s understanding of their rights and responsibilities.

As part of Otrumaiyin Naal, the children brought vegetables, rice, and spices from their homes. With great teamwork, the volunteers and senior children helped prepare all the ingredients. Under the warm leadership of Mr. D. Arockiam, a delicious community lunch was cooked, beautifully demonstrating unity in action.
Before lunch, each group from Beginner to Senior gave vibrant performances of the action songs they had been learning through the camp. Primary D was awarded the Award of the Day for their lively and well-synchronized performance.
In the afternoon, Beginner and Primary children spent time at a nearby park while the rest of the groups played spirited team games at the foothills of Thenparankundram. The day ended on a high note, reminding everyone of the importance of rights, learning, and unity — the heart of Vidiyal and the vision behind the Child Rights Movement.
