International Day of Play – 2025

Vidiyal celebrated the International Day of Play across its rural and urban centres, affirming the right to play as a vital part of childhood.

Children from the rural centres of Thanakankulam, Motta Malai, Nilaiyur, Keelakuyilkudi, Anupanadi, Valayankulam Colony, Samanatham, Perungudi, Malaichamypuram, Thethangkulam, Dr. Kabeer Nagar, and Soudrapadian Nagar actively participated in vibrant, engaging activities designed to promote fun, teamwork, and imagination.

Urban celebrations were held in centres such as Main Centre, Melavasal 1, Melavasal 2, Heera Nagar, Avaniyapuram 1, Avaniyapuram 2, Avaniyapuram 3, Muthupatti, Ambedkar Nagar, Subramaniyapuram, and Vallanathapuram.

The entire day was filled with laughter and joy, as children explored their creativity and freedom through various games and group activities. In addition to centre-based celebrations, Vidiyal’s staff and volunteers reached out to 19 schools, facilitating playful and participatory sessions.

These school-based celebrations added to the scale and spirit of the event.

Total children reached: 1,668, including 1,110 children from schools and 558 from Vidiyal Centres.
