The first-ever Vidiyal Media Day was held with great excitement and creativity at the Vidiyal Training Centre. It was a special day designed to introduce children to the vast and fascinating world of digital media, blending learning and fun in ways they had never experienced before.
The day began with a formal opening ceremony hosted by the newly elected office bearers of the Vidiyal Child Rights Movement (VCRM). President Gopinath delivered the welcome address, warmly setting the tone for the day. Dr. C. Jim Jesudoss introduced the chief guest, Mr. Rajasekaran, a celebrated music composer and a longtime well-wisher of Vidiyal. Mr. Rajasekaran addressed the gathering with a heartfelt and motivating speech, sharing musical interludes and stories that encouraged children to follow their dreams. He was honoured with a shield by the VCRM leaders.

Following this, Mr. J. Jesley Priyadharshan gave an inspiring overview of the day, filling the room with energy and curiosity. The first session was a unique storytelling experience using green screen technology, led by Vidiyal volunteers Ms. Sofiya and Ms. Jeyasri. The story was performed on a green mat in a specially arranged green room and live-streamed to the main hall, leaving the children in awe of the possibilities of digital storytelling. Each child then had a chance to enter the green screen space and explore various virtual backgrounds, experiencing firsthand how media can transform imagination into reality.
After lunch, the VCRM office bearers led a fun energizer to lift the children’s spirits, followed by a humorous video by Mr. Hari Prasath that added laughter and excitement to the afternoon.

The rest of the day was filled with vibrant age-wise activities. Beginner and Primary children watched an AI-generated animated movie titled “FLOW,” which captivated their young minds. Junior children moved on to create colorful and exciting props for a photo and selfie booth. With guidance from volunteer Mr. Janarthanan, they not only made props but enjoyed posing with them and capturing memories. Intermediate children attended a practical session on vlog making, guided by Mr. Ganesan, Vidiyal’s digital media trainer. Senior children took part in a songwriting session, where they worked as teams to compose lyrics and were introduced to the basics of how a recording studio works. This session was led by Mr. Jesley, who walked them through the process step-by-step.
The day came to a close at 4:30 PM. Children left the training centre inspired, energized, and deeply moved by what they had experienced. It was a day where creativity met technology and every child was given the chance to step into the world of media with wonder and confidence.
