Sakthi – Vidiyal hosted its annual Orientation for New Volunteers, a focused two-day programme to equip volunteers with the right mindset, values, and understanding of their roles in promoting child rights and social development. The sessions opened with a warm welcome and engaging activities, including a personality test by Mr. Jesley and a profile-writing session by Mr. Anbu that encouraged self-reflection.

On the second day, Dr. C. Jim Jesudoss shared insights into the spirit of volunteerism and the responsibilities expected of each volunteer. Interactive discussions with Mr. Anil helped define mutual expectations, followed by key sessions on discipline and professional boundaries by Ms. Sharmila, and practical guidelines from Mr. Chandran.

Volunteers also had meaningful interactions with Vidiyal staff and senior volunteers. The orientation concluded with the signing of the Child Safeguarding Undertaking led by Ms. Sophiya, and Dr. Jim introduced the year-long internship plan. The two days laid a strong foundation for committed volunteer engagement in Vidiyal’s child rights movement.
